Sunshine all the time makes a desert.

Alright, Palm Springs has to be the most photogenic city….desert….in the world. I just fall in love with it every time I visit. I mean, it’s like Edward Scissorhands meets tiki meets unicorns. Special thanks to the Saguaro for that extra pop of color.

I feel like I’m figuring out this photography thing a little more. A friend of mine asked me to shoot her wedding, so I am in this mode where I just take photos of everything all the time. I’m learning more about what I enjoy shooting (portraits). Landscapes I am having a harder time with. So this was my day with my beautiful co-workers who let me take pictures of them all day long.

Doors are better in pink.

Certain layovers stand out. This was one of those trips. How is it possible to fall in love with the same place over and over? 💕

It was never random. #2018

As I sit here basking in the Palm Springs sun in the middle of winter, I reminisce on this year and how in 3 short days I’ll say goodbye to 2017.

In 2017 I made a New Years resolution for the first time ever and while achieving abs of steel is a little far fetched, I’m proud of a few goals that I managed to achieve: I bought my first adult car, took up photography, started this blog, read some books, visited a new country and ran my first half marathon.

Along the way I have met some amazing people. A few that I can’t imagine my life without. I learned that I am more extroverted than I ever thought I was. I also learned fabric softener makes a big difference.

I sit in the window pane of my hotel room in Portland watching rain consume the city. I can’t figure out why any hotel room needs a T.V. this large.

There are two more days left in the year, and today I think about people I love who are missing. I wish it was easier to appreciate the people we so easily take for granted.

Today it is snowing outside and I’m in New York. I am tired. Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve; this post is dedicated to the past, present and future. My hope for 2018, is that it brings us adventure, possibility, love and good health. Happy new year WordPress ❤️

“We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone”

My favorite photos from our Christmas. I could take photos of this child all day long.

Merry Christmas friends.

Pumpkin Spice and Eerie reads

Want a balloon

I am one of those basic B’s who starts to prepare for Halloween at the end of August even though we have been in some freak heat wave for the last week. Nonetheless, I think this post is useful for my book worms out there *Ahem Madison*. Or my flight attendant friends who are bored of staring at the wall on red eyes (no hate, sometimes wall staring is the only thing keeping me awake).

The following books have been rated by yours truly as my top 5 for the season:

  1. The Winter People
  2. Find Her
  3. In a dark , dark wood (just one wood)
  4. Big Little Lies
  5. Horns

I tried to put these books in order of favorite, but to be honest the first 3 books were probably a complete tie (Shout out to Kimber for her amazing recommendations). Feel free to comment and add to my list of thrillers, mysteries and suspense themes. Nothing better than crawling into bed at some haunted hotel in Dallas, while reading a book that will be sure to give me nightmares on minimum rest. Keep calm, read on and purple bath bombs for everyone! Cheers to Fall.

Hawaiian sunsets & infinity pools

Nothing tops a layover in Hawaii. Is this even real life? Shout out to Bae who crashed my layover, threw me around like a hot dog in the ocean and who rode water slides with me.
